Our final residential workshop dedicated to the polyphonic reconstruction of the missing tenor book from Baldwin Partbooks (GB-Och: Mus979-83) will take place at Newcastle University on 11-13 March 2016. (You can find out what to expect via the Storify's of our previous workshops at Oxford and Cambridge)

Sessions:

  • Friday 11 March, 2.00pm-5.00pm: John Sheppard and Robert White (Magnus Williamson, Newcastle University);
  • Saturday 12 March, 9.30am-1.00pm: William Byrd (Andrew Johnstone, Trinity College, Dublin);
  • Saturday 12 March, 2.00pm-5.30pm: Luca Marenzio (Marina Toffetti, University of Padua);
  • Sunday 13 March, 10.00am-1.00pm: William Mundy (Tim Symons, Early English Church Music).

Suitable for: second- and third-year undergraduates; postgraduate students; interested amateur participants with training in harmony and counterpoint; interested observers.

Requirements: please notify the principal investigator (magnus.williamson@ncl.ac.uk) by 2nd March if you wish to attend using this form: ‌. An accommodation list will be provided on request, and bursaries are available for students and unwaged.
